VYBE ("we", "our", or "us") operates the VYBE mobile application and website at getvybe.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — your name, phone number, and profile photo when you register
- Location data — your approximate location to show nearby events and to confirm event attendance (only when the app is in use)
- Usage data — events you view, save, or mark as "going", reservations you make
- Device data — device type, operating system, and push notification token for sending you notifications
- Instagram handle — optionally provided by you during registration
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To show you relevant events and venues near you
- To process and manage your reservation requests
- To confirm event attendance and calculate your VYBE reputation score
- To send you push notifications about reservations and events
- To improve the app and our services
3. Information Shared With Venues
When you make a reservation request, we share your name, Instagram handle (if provided), and — if you have opted in — your VYBE tier and attendance reliability with the venue. You can control whether your reputation is visible to venues via the Privacy toggle in your profile settings.
4. Location Data
We use your location to show nearby events and to detect when you are at an event venue to offer attendance confirmation. Location is only accessed when the app is open and in use. We do not track your location in the background or share precise location data with third parties.
5. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), which is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure in Europe. Firebase complies with GDPR requirements.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and push notifications
- Stripe — payment processing for venue subscriptions (we do not store your card details)
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Request that we stop processing your data

8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
9. Children's Privacy
VYBE is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes via the app or by email. Continued use of VYBE after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
